NFL/PEPSI Punt, Pass & Kick Competition
Madison Area YMCA, on Thursday, September 9th
for boys & girls, ages 6-15 (age determined as of Dec. 31, 2010)

Times for each age group have been assigned as follows:
ages 6-7 at 1:00pm
ages 8-9 at 1:30pm
ages 10-11 at 2:00pm
ages 12-13 at 2:30pm
ages 14-15 at 2:30pm

On the day of the competition participants MUST have with them:
- Entry Form /Release of Liability
- Birth Certificate - Proof of Age
- Sneakers - NO CLEATS ALLOWED

Sports Development (Ages 3 & 4)
Children and parents will enjoy this class that focuses on gross motor skill development, including throwing, catching, kicking, and hitting, helping to build confidence. 
 
Start Smart Golf (Ages 3 & 4)
A parent/child class that offers a basic introduction to golf using oversize club heads & larger balls to teach putting and launching skills.

Track & Field (Ages 4 - 6)
New classes that teach children about proper running form and the field events, javelin, discus, shotput, long jump and high jump.

Sports and Games (Ages 3 1/2 – 5)
Introduction to an array of age-appropriate sports and games, including: kickball, soccer, floor hockey, various tag games, relay races and more. See class list for appropriate age/grade.
 
Sports Clinics (Ages 4-5)
A popular offering that helps children develop basic sport skills. Each clinic incorporates instruction, skill development and playing the game. Clinics include: basketball, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, and T-ball. See class list for appropriate age/grade.
 
Beginning Tennis (Ages 4 & 5)
The class is led by the YMCA's Sports staff and children develop eye-hand coordination and learn the basic skills of the game, forehand, and backhand hits.
 
Sport Skills Combination Clinics (Ages 4 & 5)
The same as the regular Sports Clinics, but two different sports are covered in the 20 week cycle. Clinics for Fall include: Soccer/Floor Hockey, Floor Hockey/Basketball or Football/Basketball. See class list for appropriate age/grade.
 
Kinder Karate ( Ages 4 & 5)
Learn Okinawan style karate through SMART MOVES classes which offer progressive skill development in a wide range of martial techniques including traditional kata, escape/release techniques, standing grappling maneuvers, meditation, breath control and flexibility techniques, conflict resolution strategies, Chinese kempo yoga practices, internal energy management exercises and traditional ranking in the colored belts up to Black Belt level.

Karate (Grades 1 – 12)
Learn Okinawan karate: Youth Beginner and Advanced classes offer progressive skill development in a wide range of martial techniques including traditional kata, escape/release techniques, standing grappling maneuvers, meditation, breath control and flexibility techniques, conflict resolution strategies, Chinese kempo yoga practices, internal energy management exercises and traditional ranking in the colored belts up to Black Belt level. 
 
Traveling Soccer

Traveling Basketball (Ages 11 & 12 and 13 & 14)

Y-Winners
A great way to introduce team play to your sports enthusiast. Skill instruction and games are played every week against other teams in the league. Offerings include Soccer (Kindergarten, 1st - 2nd, 3rd - 4th, and 5th grades), Basketball (1st - 2nd and 3rd - 4th) and Flag Football (1st - 2nd and 3rd - 4th grades), T-Ball (5-6 year olds).  Please Note: In the event of rain, T-ball will be cancelled.
 
First Day Assessments
The YMCA staff uses this time to evaluate the children, so the teams will be as equal as possible skill wise.

Adult Basketball (Ages 18 and up)
Before work, during lunch, or on weekends, we’ve got a game for you. Pick-up basketball games available for all adult members and their guests.
 
Adult Soccer (Ages 18 and up)
Designated times set up to play pick-up games.
 
Open Gym
Times set aside to bring family into our gymnasium. Come in and use the facility to play basketball, soccer, what ever you choose. See Gym Schedule for times.
 
Ultimate Dodge Ball

Adult Racquetball
Singles & doubles competition for intermediate and advanced level players. Players will be assigned to league/level based on skill level. New people signing up need to have their skill assessed by the league coordinator. Contact Bruce Pearl to set up an appointment, 973 822-9622 ext.2246.

Y-Winners T-ball for 5-6 year olds.  (No Kindergarteners)

This program is designed to give the children a chance to develop skills and learn the rules of the game.  Games are played on Saturdays from 9:30 – 10:30am in the Spring with parents coaching the teams.
