Welcome to the Summer 2010 program session!
We want our classes to be a rewarding and fun experience. Please help us make that possible by adhering to the following suggestions and guidelines. We try to incorporate the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in everything we do and we ask you to follow the same principles.
ATTENDANCE & OBSERVATION
Please be responsible and present your membership cards when entering the facility. Failure to present your card at check in will create delays and you may be late for class. Please note that children under age 12 are not permitted to enter the facility without an adult. Please care enough to walk your child/children to class and pick them up immediately after class. When possible please use the restroom before class. Bathroom breaks disrupt the flow of the class.
We strongly encourage parents and siblings to observe class from outside the program area in order to avoid any distractions. Please respect the instructors’ requests for order during class. If you do stay please just observe the class. It is distracting to the class if you are getting involved. Please make sure to supervise any children who are observing with you.
MISSED CLASSES
Make-ups are only held for classes canceled by the department. Our program sessions run back to back and it is nearly impossible to make up another lesson without affecting student-teacher ratios therefore creating safety hazards.
ATTIRE
Participants should come to class in proper attire. Please always have swimmers in a bathing suit. Swimmers who are not toilet trained should have a swim diaper on with elastic at the legs and waist.
If swimmers have long hair it should be tied back so it will not get in their face during lessons.
WITHDRAWLS
The YMCA is flexible and we understand that things can go wrong. If you decide to withdraw from class for any reason, you may do so before the 3rd class of the cycle. Refunds are only issued in the event the YMCA cancels the class or for a valid medical reason documented in writing by a doctor. Please consult the program guide for more information.
Please no shoes or strollers on the pool deck. No food or drink in the bleachers
COMMUNICATION
Please communicate honestly with us. We are committed to providing quality programs. If you have a question or concern, please consult with your class instructor or one of the department directors. We ask for your patience as instructors may only have a limited amount of time in between classes.
