Assistant Coaches-
Dan Castellanos
Donald Banta Don has coached with Madison YMCA since 2008. From the age of 5 he has been involved with competitive swimming on the club, high school, collegiate, and master’s level. At the collegiate level he swam at Rider University. He believes in creating a supporting “team” environment which also encourages swimmers to develop individually. For the younger swimmers, stroke technique and other skills are always placed over simply swimming laps. For the older swimmers, these skills are always reiterated as they begin to train more seriously. His catch phrase “Courage, Commitment, Character” and he instills these values in young people at every practice.
